This product never lived up to the Char-Broil reputation. It never got hot enough to grill meat or poultry. Nothing had the grilled appearance and taste experienced with gas grills. I used it about three times and then gave it away.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The unit does not equal in any way the gas version.... and is not as good as older versions of the electric models

Bought this over a year ago. Satisfaction has been about 50/50. Can be very difficult to maintain degree consistency and due to the electrical amps and wiring of too many outlets on one circuit, we have to turn off electricity using in 3 rooms, so the breaker won't blow. Have no qualms with how the food taste, main problem is heat consistency, takes while to get to desired temp, then it quickly surpasses; constantly having to adjust the temp. gauge.
Do not know any other residents here who have electric grill so have no comparison. Would recommend hesitantly as this serves our purpose.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Does not retain heat unless you leave the cover closed. Hard to grill food without opening the cover. Would not recommend to anyone.

USE NOT UNTIL COVER AVAILABLE. Just think the sale price is = cover cost!!!

i am not able to purchase a cover to protect my grill. i just had a very wonderful charbroil grill removed. cause water damage. i will NOT USE THIS GRILL UNTIL I CAN OBTAIN THE PRESCRIBED COVER.

I have 2 of these grills, but after using for 1 year both pull too much power and can not use outside electrical outlets because they knock out the ground fault. I tried replacing ground fault but didn’t help.

Not thought out very well.

Nice concept but poorly executed. The heating element seems like a standard oven heating element so it heats very unevenly. It’s also slow to heat up to temperature. Once it gets there, you’d better not even think of opening the grill because all of that heat escapes and will NOT come back up to temperature no matter how long you keep it closed. If you’re limited to an electric grill, your options are very few with this being one of them. If not, you’d be happier with either gas or charcoal.
