Wifi is stable but settings crash
on December 6, 2021
Posted by: Leona
Out of box this works well. Play with the settings even a little and it’s a nightmare. I tried very simple changes like adjusting the security to wpa3 after applying the changes I get locked out of the wifi despite having wpa3 devices trying to connect. Basically almost every time I change a setting in the admin page and apply the setting the whole system goes down forcing me to factory reset and start all over. Probably will end up returning

The firmware and install wizard for these routers is really bad.

This is a joke. Waist of money. It is not expanding the range at all!!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Easy install and powerful

The app on my phone led me through the steps, and allowed me to change the network name and password to the pre-existing ones, which made everything work seamlessly. Highly recommended!
Cannot separate the ssid for 5g and 2.4. This is a ridiculous limitation

Dedicated backhaul = massive improvement in wifi
on December 19, 2021

I upgraded from a Google mesh WiFi with 3 router/satellites. It worked but was slow. I got slight improvement by connecting one of the Google satellites to Ethernet but this compromised the satellite location. I have gigabyte internet speed. With a 3 piece Orbi system I am getting near gigabyte speed everywhere in the house. This is because the Orbi dedicates one of its 3 radios for communication between satellites/radios. Other mesh systems share the mesh communication with the WiFi traffic which essentially cuts the capable bandwidth speed in half. No satellites are connected by Ethernet in my setup. Note this is 3600 square ft single story home. If your not going to connect your satellites by Ethernet then definitely go with triband and I think the best experience would be one with a dedicated radio for the backhaul/mesh communication.

High speed WiFi for all my devices

Orbi was a great upgrade from my old WiFi router. With more devices requiring WiFi access my old router was no longer doing the job. When I installed Orbi it was a huge difference. All my devices work flawlessly. My TV no longer paused to buffer. Watching videos on my computer streamed and downloaded super fast. Orbi was really easy to set up and use right away.

Huge upgrade!

I’m so glad I finally bought a mesh router system and this one is absolutely perfect. I tested my internet speeds before and after installing and they have doubled my internet speeds! I wasn’t sure if my speeds would improve to get to the maximum speed of my internet plan, but it did and now I can fully utilize my internet speeds! I am so happy with the router and receive good connection everywhere in the house so I no longer have to worry about poor connection.
