Easy to use

My old router was having issues staying connected. Bought the Orbi because it had a good number of hardwired ports I needed and multiple mesh. Very easy setup by using same SSID and a much better signal and speed. Very happy with the purchase

Great Performance…Challenging Setup

The performance of the orbi has been great. I’m getting 800-900 Mbs through out the house. The only problem was the setup. I have a modem/router combo from my internet provider and I knew I would have to do something to bypass the router part so the orbi would do it. Tech support was nice but they didn’t know how to do it. I spent 2.5 hours on the phone. This can’t be that uncommon that Netgear doesn’t have the steps in their tech support database. We ended up getting my internet provider on a 3-way call and they fixed it in 5 minutes with a very simple process.

I purchased a Model RBR750 router along with two RBS750 satellites in a kit to replace my old system that was failing. WOW, what a difference in signal strength! I measured signal strength over the entire house, outside on the porch, in the garage and on the patio in the back yard and was amazed. I am well pleased with the system. Easy to set-up plus I can use the app to do various things with the system.

The installation was a debacle. When I attempted to change the network name to our pre-existing network name, the Orbi refused, saying there was a pre-existing network. Only after a lot of work and redo’s I was able to make it work, but I had to separately put in a new network name and password on all 13 of the devices then being used. I think there may be a slight improvement of service over the Orbi network compared to the three or four year old network I was replacing.
