Very good router, but...

I purchased the AX4200 3-pack and have been using it for a little over a week now (I replaced a Netgear R6300). I'm not going to get into all of the technical stuff since I really don't understand it; I'll just say that I have definitely noticed an improvement in speed. My reason for upgrading was due to running so many wireless devices; the 6300 was good but was struggling to keep up, and since we have Apple TV the frequent picture freezes were becoming ridiculous. The interior walls of our house are insulated which also made it hard on the R6300, but with plans to add more wireless devices I knew it was time to upgrade. Only time will tell how well this model performs as far as reliability, but if it's anything like the 6300 I don't expect any issues. My only two real complaints at this time are as follows:
One, the Orbi app logs out by itself and is a little buggy for some reason on occasion. Why? Couldn't tell you. The fact that I'm able to log back on without any problem is good, but it can get annoying. I'm assuming this is an issue with that app and that an update in the future will remedy this.
Secondly, the router is having trouble staying connected to my Mac computer. I Googled this issue but to be honest some of the trial and error scenarios were way over my head. Plugging an ethernet cable from the router to the Mac solves the problem, but it really defeats the whole purpose of being wireless. I might call tech support one day when I have time; the hold times are sometimes long.
As I stated, time will tell as far as reliability goes. I've read complaints from people who say the AX4200 isn't any faster for them, or that the system didn't work correctly right out of the box. I have high speed internet and setting up the system was fast and easy. Had I not had any problems with Wifi connectivity for my Mac I would have given this rating five stars. Using a cable or turning the Wifi off/on is not a deal breaker, but it's something I should NOT be experiencing in my opinion.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Amazing Router

I lived in a duplex and was not getting service at all. I teach, my 3 kids attend school online and my husband streams movie and play video games. After two months of trying different options, I decided to invest in the Orbi. It was not cheap but, my..... was that the best investment!!! The moment we connected the Orbi, I got service downstairs immediately. I highly recommend this to anyone. The best money spent (I promise).

Product works really well and was super easy to set up. My one concern is that I had to restart the Orbi twice already as internet kept cutting out.

Great product!

Increased WiFi strength throughout entire house, but had some issues setting it up. Their help line was wonderful, but it is only offered free for 90 days. It is pricey to extend it too.

Replaced my nighthawk hooked up to Xfinity Comcast cable. The 2 satellites have really increased coverage and resolved a problem I had from upstairs to downstairs. I highly recommend Orbi Mesh.

Great after firmware and app update...

Setup was a nightmare as the Orbi app wouldn’t recognize my iPhone as a trusted device. Finally got it setup using the web based browser. I didn’t know at the time there was an app issue. A few days later, a firmware and app update were released and finally got the app to work. With the updates, I find the mesh system to be fast and reliable with great range. My only quibble is that the system decides what band your device will run on. In other words, I can’t choose between the 2.4ghz and 5.8ghz bands. The router decides for you. Sometimes, it will connect a 5ghz device to the 2.4ghz band. Also, sometimes device remains connected to the main satellite vs one of the 2 secondaries. Overall, it works pretty good, but, for the price, I expected better.

Nice speeds throughout the house

I get good WiFi speeds throughout the house. There are some issues streaming video to some of my devices. Video goes grainy for a second or two like the WiFi is not giving a constant steady bandwidth. Overall good product.

Good product

So far I consider this to be a good product. It’s easy to setup with the app. So far it’s pulling more than what I pay for or right on. It has great coverage for a 3000sqft house and then some. No issues connecting devices or with dropped signal. The router and satellites are big. It’s still early but so far a good product.
