I've changed the toner and even the drum now, (all original Brother), and still getting some smudges especially on 1st page of any job.

You get what you pay for

After years of using various compatible toners, I decided to go back the product that I know probably produces the highest print quality. With the two-pack Brother toner package, I should have plenty of time to determine if the original product is superior. In the final analysis, quality and reliability, not cost, should determine a purchase decision.

Ink doesn't go very far

I have never come close to 2,600 pages even with the toner saver feature on my printer.

Brother is the best.I

I read all of the rating statements. I believe the less than five stars raters are not users that rely on the printer for a living. I use mine every day. As an attorney for 41 years, I have relied on printing from printers from day one. I started with a secretary and IBM typewriters. In college I learned to use punch cards the year before Bill Gates was working in his garage in 1975. Since 1980, I followed and used the floppies through the troublesome DOS and pre-MicroSoft 7. Along with those problems came shoddy printers. The worst of all has been the laser-jet cartridge ink printer. I tried many disappointing printers and wasted ink that rarely lasted more than six month. I have been using daily for over five years a Brother HL-L2380DW and used TN 630 and 660 cartridges without any problems. Yes, it's a monochrome. But it is a work horse and the most reliable I have ever used.

Cartridge does not last as long as stated

Hello, stated page yields for genuine Brother cartridges are based on the ISO testing standards. The number of pages that can be printed with a cartridge is affected by several factors, including paper size, number of pages per print job, amount of print on each page, font size, and print content (graphics, charts, etc.). Print jobs with large text fonts, graphics, charts, and/or large amount of solid coverage (black or any given color) will use much more toner and will shorten the life of the toner cartridge.
