We chose this refrigerator since it has no ice dispenser on the outside, it's counter depth, energy efficient, and a good size. However, it does not keep cool under 40 degrees. Our independent thermometer consistently registers in the high 40's to over 50 degrees. We've adjusted the temperature, and made sure we don't place items too close to the twin chill unit. We are careful to not keep the doors open very long. Milk has spoiled twice over the month that we've used the refrigerator. Also, the bins on the doors are much too big (deep). Unless the bins are full, items slide or fall when opening and closing the doors. I'd rather have more room on the main shelves and smaller door shelves. The freezer is difficult to organize and find food, and is poorly designed with cheap plastic drawers. I am disappointed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love the refrigerator portion but the freezer space is too small and the bins are not easily accessible.

Hi Glenda680 - Thanks so much for sharing your feedback! We're glad to hear you love the fresh food section and we'll be sure and pass along your comments about the small freezer space to our refrigerator design team. They review these on a regular basis. Thank you for buying GE Appliances! - Sharon@GEA
I LOVE my new GE refrigerator. My husband and I decided we wanted a refrigerator without a water/ice dispenser on the outside door. We found this GE and it's great! The freezer section is very large and easy to open with two compartments. The top compartment is divided in half and the left side holds the ice tray and ice maker. It slides out over the bottom compartment. We still have plenty of room on the top compartment for many smaller items like sausage, hamburger, or small bags of vegetables. The bottom compartment has a plastic divider that can be adjusted in whatever way you prefer. We store all fruit and larger bags of vegetables in the left smaller side and the right larger side holds our larger meat purchases. The inside of the refrigerator is very bright, which I like! There are many shelves and although you can reconfigure them, we left them the way they came from the factory which has worked out fine. There are two smaller drawers and one large drawer that runs along the bottom of the inside right above the freezer. I love the large drawer. It's long and narrow and fits all the smaller items we always had to search for in our old refrigerator. If you're holding something in one hand and you still want something else, you can rest your item on the 6" shelf in front of the bottom large drawer. It's a really nice feature so you don't have to turn away from the refrigerator to put an item down on the counter while you're looking for the second item, for instance - ketchup and mustard! Also, the inside door compartments are very, very roomy and deep! I ended up even storing my smaller bags of specialized flours in one of them because they were so deep. I never had room in my old refrigerator to store them. There are 6 door compartments and the top one on the left door is tall enough and deep enough to store 6 bottles of wine! The two main upper doors have an excellent seal method that I've never seen before but there's an extra part on the left door that swings over when the two doors close to seal the center part and keep the cold inside! Really nice! The ice machine is very quiet and the ice is delicious. So far we love our new refrigerator and are so happy we purchased a GE!
We've only had the fridge for about 2 months but all things are working as expected. Ice production is quick so we have to turn off the ice maker occasionally if we don't use up enough ice to keep the little bin from overflowing. Fridge and freezer are easy to keep clean and there's plenty of space for us with some practice. Overall, a great buy.
Abundant space, quiet operation, needs larger ice bin for bottom freezer section.
