Freezer drawer tighter than fort knox’s vault

Just received this new fridge. The freezer drawer is difficult to open. In fact when trying to open the door it pulls the entire fridge forward out of its spot. The wheels don’t lock so the entire fridge rolls out of place. Makes it very easy to get behind it to clean but you cant get your food in or out of the freezer with out pushing very hard on the fridge doors while pulling on the freezer drawer. Does the warranty cover chiropractor visits? You will need to purchase some kind of wheel chocks to hold the thing in place. **If you have any kind of disability or mobility issues you are in for trouble with this fridge. Aesthetically it is a very handsome fridge and everything else seems ok. They should market this as a fridge/exercise machine combo deal. Unfortunately I am stuck with it now because you can’t find a fridge anywhere. I was forced into getting this one as there were no other choices available. All the reviews give GE good marks however this issue was mentioned in other reviews and I figured they were exaggerated and I could handle a drawer, just tug a little harder no bug deal. But this is much more than a tug this like trying to pull an elephant through a door. I had my 24 year old give it a try as well just be sure and it wasn’t just me. She couldn’t get it open either without a struggle.

Hello - We appreciate you taking the time to share your review. Due to the size of the doors and the strength of the door gaskets, it is possible that it may roll or move when one of the doors is opened.
Since the rollers/wheels do not lock in place, it may help to place a piece of wood, a small wood wedge, or plastic furniture coaster (with felt on the bottom) under the wheels to prevent rolling. Re-level the refrigerator if necessary. Thank you so much for your feedback regarding the freezer drawer! Try rubbing paraffin wax or petroleum jelly along the edges of the entire gasket. Paraffin wax is used for canning and is safe for use around food. We will be sure to pass this on to the appropriate team for future design and development. Have a good day!

Broken freezer within 10 minths

Was super happy until 3 weeks ago, ice maker stopped working and the defrost for the freezer no longer works. GE was good with sending out a repair team, however I am back in the queue again as the ice maker is still broken

Disappointed with doors

We only bought this refrigerator because of the 4 week available date. Other models were out of stock or a very long wait to get them.
When we received the unit we were VERY disappointed that the refrigerator doors opened way to far and hit our walls & cabinets. (There was no way to adjust this, or purchase any additional parts to correct this)
We also noticed, in the freezer, that frost would build up on items. We finally figured out that we had to be very diligent to manually slide the upper food rack back, EVERY time we used it. Just closing the freezer drawer didn't get the rack back far enough.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

More disappointed than I want to be.

Biggest issue is inconsistent temperature readings that almost never match the temp set on door. After 3 weeks, I continue to check temp in the morning after door has not been opened for at least 7-8 hours and temp has been as much as 5 degrees off. Secondly, the doors are not level with one another. I have adjusted them to the max but the left door is still 1/4” higher than left. There is no more adjustment room left on the adjustment screws. Poor design! The fridge is roomy and is easily organized and the freezer space is more than enough for a 2 person household. If not for the temp and door issues, I could easily have rated this fridge much higher.

Nice size for a counter depth refrigerator

Probably deserves 3.5 stars, however that is not possible with the ratings. Have owned this refrigerator for 3 months. Pros- has very good storage capacity for a counter depth. The refrigerator portion is definitely a four or five star. Temperature stays within range. The overall look is very nice. Cons- the freezer temperature fluctuates from set point (-3 degrees) to around 10 degrees, haven’t figured out why. Unfortunately I think this is perhaps the reason the ice maker has large chunks of frozen water/cubes in the bin. Have set the temperature down to -3 hoping this would alleviate the issue. It hasn’t. Also. Would prefer a dual temperature readout of both fridge and freezer so I wouldn’t have to toggle between the two to find actual temperature.

Ice maker

I love this refrigerator but the ice maker is slow to replenish when making ice . It does take a full 24-36 hours to refill once ice is depleted.
I would recommend this to a friend!

GE23.1 french door fridge

What a great refrigerator. It's really quiet, has great interior lighting and a lot of space. We didn't get the water in the door or the top ice maker so the left door has twice the room, fantastic! The ice maker is in the freezer where it belongs, and makes lots of ice!! The twin chillers work great. You can see on the digital readout that the freezer is at 5 degrees F, while the refrigerator is at 37 degrees F. and these are easy to adjust on the display panel.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I received a lemon

Since my refrigerator was delivered it had trouble with the temperature being inconsistent, it varied between 35 and 48 degrees. Then one day the compressor stopped working and no longer cools. It looks really good and has lots of space, but is useless to me at the moment.
