Worked great untill the batteries wore out

Changed the batteries and now it only functions as a flashlight, if you are constantly pushing the button. As a bike tail light, I loved the options (steady or flashing). After changing the batteries, options are gone, worthless as a tail light now. Boo.

Worthless after battery change

Used this a few times but the batteries died after it accidentally turned on in my travel bag. No problem I thought, I'll just replace the batteries. But NOOOOOOO. Now it only lights up if you are holding the button down constantly. No use to me now.

Super fun light for my kid to play with. Low, high and strobe make it a really light to play with. My daughter is almost three and thinks she can read. She get the light and sets it up like a horse and then hides under the blankets with her books. Awesome little gift. Thanks

Not working after batteries replaced

My wife bought me this cute little flashlight last Christmas. It worked well until I replaced batteries. It then becomes unless.
Instructions did not tell me how to open it up. I have to watch an YouTube video to learn it. Replaced batteries and thought I could follow the instructions to reset the light. No luck after many times. 15 minutes gone and I gave it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Cute

Have to hold the bug body down for the light to come on, the light will not stay on and it does not have 4 functions, does not work as advertised , it was a present.

Thank you for taking time to leave us your input regarding the Nite Ize BugLit. At Nite Ize, we pride ourselves in manufacturing high quality products that stand up to the rigors of everyday use. Our BugLit comes with a test mode to prevent the batteries from draining while in stores. This test mode is reactivated when the batteries are replaced. To deactivate test mode, press and hold the button down for 15-30 seconds. The light will turn off automatically. Once the light has turned off, it should resume to function normally. This information is outlined in the instructions that are included with the BugLIt.

Whats complicated is how to keep on and switch modes.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. The BugLit comes in signal mode out of the package. Signal mode allows you to see how bright the light is, in the store. If you hold the button down for 25-30 seconds it will activate the multifunction mode. Died Quickly, Not much use!

The product was great while it lasted however that wasn't long, less than 6 months. Replaced the batteries and now the light won't stay on, bad motherboard. Not worth the money, there are better alternatives.

Hello Paul,

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. The BugLit has a 10 Hr run-time on high and 22 Hr on low. Depending upon how much you are using it, a six month life sounds typical. When you replace the batteries the product goes back into 'Signal' mode, this mode allows customers to test the light when in the package at the store. In order to get the light out of signal mode you need to press the button down for 20 seconds, that will return the light to the three function mode you are looking for. Legs broke almost right away

My son bought this and the legs on it snapped making the legs useless. He barely even used it.
