I work from home for a large World Wide technology company. I use external monitors and multiple external hard drives. I also run an at home business. I can easily swap out my work computer for my business computer with no issues.
I wanted to plug in this device, plug it into my laptop, plug it into an external monitor and have it all work. But nothing worked. Everything was plugged in correctly. My laptop could not recognize the external monitor. The HP support website could not help me. HP says my item is ineligible for return. I am unhappy with this purchase.
A product made by HP doesn’t work on most HP products. Until you squint through the fine print, you finally see whatnot supports. Maybe have a larger caption to check what it can support.
I was very disappointed with the HP USB-C Dock G5. It was in comparable with the Hp Computer that I purchased and were never able to make a connection with the monitor. Thank you for accepting it for return.
Second one I've had and still not compatible out of the box. Checked for updates for all drivers, still can't get it to work. These docks are very expensive, not even worth the time or money. I have HP laptop and HP Monitors.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I own a lot of technologies around my table in my office, including two monitors, one TV and multiple accessories. I have used this kind of product before, but cannot connect Macbook pro and ASUS laptop with Windows version, but I need to switch between two laptops. When I used this HP G5 dock, it can help connect my two monitors and accessories, such as my cell phone charger and apple watch, and even I have conference video call, and it still works perfect. I do not need to interrupt any services when switching different services, and also my laptop run very fast. This is very important for my job. I really enjoy this HP G5 with USB C/Thunderbolt ports, and the installation is also super easy, and I put on top of my stand, and it looks elegant. I am ready to purchase another one to replace my old doc at home.
