Potential is great, but leaves me wanting more.

Connection seems buggy when multiple devices are connected to Aladdin Connect, and often when starting up the app, I'm disconnected from the service and have to restart the app to get it working. That aside, it usually works. But the voice controls are not as expected. Yes, you can open and close the door with Google Home, but you can't just say "OK Google, open Garage Door" or whatever. You have to say "OK Google, talk to Aladdin Connect," then she starts talking, then you have to ask her to open/close the door. To complicate things even more, if you ask her to open or close the Garage Door, even if that's the name you gave it in the app, and even if that's the ONLY door you have connected to Aladdin Connect, it gets confused and says something like "We see a door similar to that name. If you want garage door, please say 1 and only the number 1." It does go faster if you just say "Open door", but then what's the point in naming the door? Point is, it should be more connected with Google Home that you can just say "open garage door." Please work on this.

There currently is not a smart home skill for using Alexa with the garage door opener so Aladdin Connect has a custom skill that provides you the ability to use Alexa with our App. After initial setup you can simply now just say “Alexa ask Aladdin Connect to open (insert door name). “ Full list of commands are below.
For the PIN after setup it can be disabled instructions below: Disabling your PIN: Simply say “Alexa: tell Aladdin Connect to disable my PIN”
- By disabling your pin, you are deactivating a feature meant to provide an additional level of security - Follow prompts: o "Please say your PIN to proceed" - Say your PIN o PIN has been disabled

Product works well with my older model opener (ISD995). Instructions were easy to follow and only took 15 min to be up and running. App tracks user access, allows me to setup rules for opening and closing the door, tracks and notifies me when door is opened and closed and by whom.

Very very easy to install (installed myself) and works great! So far no issues... Very useful as I can open garage door for any deliveries from my work or from anywhere...Impressed with the reliability!! Now we do not need separate physical door opener for each family member. They can open garage door using app on their phone!!!

Needs Homekit support

The Aladdin works well but without Apples Homekit support it just doesn't integrate well in my home.

I was happily surprised to find that I was able to retrofit my genie garage door that's probably 15 years old. it was very easy to install as long as you follow the instructions . The video was a huge help. I would recommend watching it before you try to install it and make sure you pay attention to the labels used for the hardware.

1. If you have a type III Controller you need to purchase a Genie 38013R Dry Contact Control Adapter for series III Models - nothing is mentioned about this on the main page
It’s in the FAQ or online video (I learned this after installation and i could not make it work)
2. The design engineer needs to go to ergonomics school
The connection wires are a pain to hook up into the modules
You have to push tiny tabs down while inserting the wires into the connection holes inside a small compartment on the back of the unit
Connecting wires to the 38013R is even more difficult
I would give it 5 stars except for these issues
