Good features, poor manufacturing, good warranty

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our fridge was purchased in fall 2020 amidst COVID manufacturing shortages and we waited until winter for it to be delivered. By the last week of June 2021, we had trouble keeping the fridge compartment at temperature (it was too high). A Whirlpool repair tech was sent out as part of the warranty (thank you!) and discovered that there were some controls needed to assist the freezer in defrosting that were not installed, leading to the air being blocked to the fridge or some such thing. Because those parts are unavailable, WP is now going to send us a new fridge. So they do have a very responsive and responsible warranty program and we appreciate that a lot. I would recommend the extended warranty.
On the other hand, we love the retractable shelf and drink caddy, and find that it holds a great deal more than our last fridge by another maker of the same size. The fridge door shelves hold a lot, are easily cleaned and are really as adjustable as they seem online. The ice maker unit cannot easily be removed, so if you wanted to just use the full top shelf in the freezer, you cannot do so, as it has a hole in it for the ice to drop through. It would be nice to design the shelf so it can do either.

Refrigerator door scrapes freezer door

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This refrigerator keeps everything cold appropriately and has good accessibility but the hinge on the bottom of the refrigerator door scrapes on top of the freezer door. It is audible. We have had a repairman come fix it. The problem was good for a couple of weeks but it has gone back to the way it was. We’ll have to call for another repair.

No Sealed System Warranty - DO NOT BUY

That sealed system warranty that Whirlpool loves to advertise doesn't apply to this fridge. So when it fails within five years (ours failed at two years), you'll be in the market for a new fridge.

Nice looking but fails to keep stuff frozen

Ive had similar issues that others have faced. This model fails to keep the freezer cold enough for ice. Has happened twice now in the past 2 years. The first time it worked after a few days. This time I'm looking for an alternative fridge. (I just noticed a plug in the freezer side which has an arrow on it indicated it can be moved. Not sure what its for. It was jogged by one of the freezer trays.)
On the plus side, both the fridge and freezer sections are very well laid out. The trays and bins are designed in a manner that holds much more than its small cubic space suggests. Far better use of space than our full size 36" wide GE which has positively terrible interior design.
In addition, the exterior is good looking which is not usually the case in these smaller 'garage' or basement appliances.
Fire the engineers and keep the designers on this model.
Unfortunately I very likely will be influenced by this experience.

Love my fridge

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought my fridge about 4 weeks ago and i love it, it is spacious and easy to maintain clean, I have not made the installation for the ice maker yet it will be done next week. The ease of access to all my food, fresh and frozen, is awesome.

Stylish fridge/freezer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this in Sept 2021 and the entire unit stopped working in Aug 2022. Waiting on parts. Glad it is still under warranty. But waiting on parts for such a new appliance is really a drag...going 3+ weeks without a fridge. Otherwise, I love it! Flexible shelves and drawers inside. Ice in the freezer.

Failed after 2 weeks

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This fridge was new in a house I purchased June 29,2023. It cooled for two weeks then had a catastrophic failure of the condenser. Whirlpool won’t replace. Nor will the dealer. It took weeks to get a repairman to diagnose the problem. I will never buy a Whirlpool product again.
