Design Flaw in the Toe Pedal

This compactor couldn't even live up to the abuse of a 7 year old child. The footboard/Toe Pedal will break because of poor Pivot Hole Design. Many customers have complained about this issue with this model.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Only opens an inch automatically.

I like the compactor but it only opens about an inch when you step on the bar. I haven’t manually pull the compactor open. I have had several compactors over the years and this vice only one I’ve ever owned that didn’t open further automatically.

We'd like to assist you with your compactor. The drawer is designed to open about 7” with a firm push of the foot pedal. There is a spring in the back to assist with the opening. Once you open the drawer with the foot pedal, you will need to pull on the drawer by hand to get to the full open position.

This compactor is great. It was SO EASY to install. It just rolled into the space, no hardware necessary. It works well and is pretty quiet.
