Have used less than a month and it is already broken. RAM tilted and tearing up the trash can knocking screws off the sides. Called the company requesting a replacement and they offered a service call. Less than a month - the least they could do is replace their defective product.

Not so good.

Compactor is very noisy and does not have a hold compact feature.

Keeps failing

I got a brand new GE Profile compactor to replace a 15 year old GE monogram compactor that finally wore out. The new one failed within the first month - just stopped compacting. After waiting a month,I received a new unit. This one has now failed just like the first one. I have now waited another month and the warranty service guy just confirmed it is indeed broken and I need a new one. I will probably have to wait another month. So unacceptable and not like GE. Very disappointed in how long it is taking to get a working machine.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Replacement compactor

Fit as expected and looks like it will work as expected. Lacks paper bag perimeter hold in place attachments. I think the plastic bags will subject to tears and leakage.

It was time to upgrade

We were in the market for a new trash compactor and came across the GE UCG1500 ss trash compactor. GE’s always has great quality in their appliances this is why I made an investment purchase

So far the compactor works great. I have a 4 rating because it would be better if this had a handle at the top of the unit. It gets fingerprint marks all over sue to no handle to grab. Otherwise no complaints.
