Defective - 2 Orders in a Row

I have had two of these delivered, the second after the motor on the first stopped working just weeks after delivery. The second delivery lasted a couple months and then the motor failed. The backorder on these parts is months long. The repair guy said it is so common he doesn't even open to took at them.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great compactor. Easy pull open. Easy pull up foot switch to activate. Great safety features. On/off inside the open drawer area.

This compactor works great. However it shows fingerprints. I have two kitchens and none of my appliances show fingerprints. Especially since it doesn't have a handle and you have to use your hands to close it. Wish I knew this before purchasing, however there

Hidden switch.

The door only opens part way, then you must open the rest .
I know this is the way it is now. This is our 3rd compactor in 37 years.
The hidden switch would have been great when my kids and grandkids were small.

I like the plain front as matches with my other appliances finger prints can be an issue but I just used stainless shell protector so they easily wipe right off. Just installed works as it should it is a bit noisy but only runs like 30 seconds so not really an issue

Clean and Crisp (and Quiet)

We decided to get a new trash compactor after our old one decided to stop halfway through the down cycle with a full load of trash...thankfully, we got this new one that matches our range, dishwasher, and microwave. It is very quiet and works very well. Only negative is our kids leave a lot of fingerprints on it!
