I bought 5 GE Cafe appliances. The Smart stove WiFi module was dead on arrival.
The compactor up and down switch failed the first day.
Awaiting replacement parts delivery.

The 5 star rating goes to Jourdyn with Precision Appliance Installation who did a fantastic job installing my trash compactor. While here, he took the initiative to resolve a poor installation problem with drainage with my new Maytag dishwasher caused by another installation company. Both appliances work great now. Thank you so much Jourdyn you Rock!!

OK Compactor

The compactor is easy to use. Unfortunately, the spring which causes the door to open is very weak, so it doesn't open very far when using the foot pedal to open - this is the only way to open it. You have to push the foot pedal very hard to get the door to pop open enough for you to drop your trash inside without touching the door.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Happy with the purchase, at least so far...

We haven't even had this 3 weeks yet, but so far so good. It seems to compact trash well, looks good (except I wish the "stainless" finish was a bit more fingerprint forgiving), and functions as we need it to. My only concern at this point is the longterm quality of the foot plate. It seems like it may be somewhat flimsy, so I worry that over time it may not last well from using it - up to open it and down to initiate compacting. Hopefully it won't be an issue.

I installed it by myself. After that it was just a plug and play. So far it is performing as expected. It has a tough example to follow - it is replacing the compactor that I originally installed in 1995, time will tell.
I would recommend this to a friend!
