I really liked GE products, but lately I feel they are going down hill.

Looks good, but stopped working within the first 2 weeks! Wouldn't compact at all.

Among other steps, you may want to check the circuit breaker or fuse to ensure power is reaching the unit, and make sure nothing is preventing the door from fully closing; for safety reasons, the door must latch fully before the compactor will run. Works like expected but could be better

The new one replaced our twenty-year-old non-GE that was having problems. One feature I miss that our previous compactor had, was a push button that would keep the ram down to constantly compact until another button was pressed and the ram would come back up to allow for the drawer to open. The GE goes down by lifting the foot switch but immediately comes back up so the trash does not stay compacted. I gave it a 3-star rating because of this, otherwise I would give it 5 stars.

It works great as expected. I accidentally turned it on with my foot then found out that is the switch to turn it in.

Does not compress the trash sufficiently!

I should have purchased the more expensive product, as this one does not compress the trash sufficiently. No matter how many times I .try thereis always trash to the very top!!!!
