Send to work ok. Doesn't compact as well as my whirlpool did, and the times louder.

Problem with Release Petal

Almost since we pitched the GE trash compactor we have had issues with the foot petal release mechanism. I my opinion it is a poor design although I am no engineer.
The actual compactor works great.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

If the replacement bags were less costly, this would be perfect. It is so close even now.

It’s missing options

My old compactor had a switch to freeze the compactor in the fully down position. This one does not. The reason that’s important Is the trash only gets partially compacted so it needs to be emptied more often and really doesn’t fully do what a compactor is meant to do.

We bought this to replace a 30+ year old compacter that we could not repair. Works and runs great. Only wish is that it came with a handle for the door. I would recommend this product.

Not real happy with this product. It does Not mash down very far & the one we had for 25 years had a button to keep it mashed & let it come up again

Do NOT like how it mashes trash. Hardly mashes at all & it wont lock to press down trash for a better compact.
