Love the large size, flexibility of the shelf arrangement, and dual evaporators -- no stinky nor funky tasting ice. Ice maker is very quiet but the compressor is louder than the Samsung French door unit it replaced. Doors take quite a bit more force to open as well.
I don't like to write negative reviews because I prefer to be a positive person but I have had nothing but problems since I bought this fridge. I have had a repair person out five times in two years! Food freezes in the refrigerator, the temperature fluctuates by 20 degrees regularly. The shelves on the door have been replaced twice and need replacing again. There are large cracks in the shelves from holding nothing more than milk and ketchup. These shelves are defective. When I called GE today, I was told that even though I bought new shelves a year ago, they will not replace them for free because the fridge is no longer under warrantly. I just wonder why a fridge needs to have door shelves replaces every year.

Worked for 7 years and then died. Refrigerator stays at about 52 and the freezer ices up. We have our old refrigerator in the garage that has been working for 20 years. Hopefully Almond comes back in style because I’m going to go back to that one. The other company that made our old one seems to have figured out how to make a quality product that lasts.

Hello,
We appreciate you taking a moment to get in touch and leave a review. We understand how important it is that a unit has great longevity and that this unit has not lasted as long as you expected.
We hope that there will be an opportunity in the future to regain your trust. -Charlie@GEAppliances
So far so good. We've been using a couple of months. The only complaint is that a gallon of milk does not fit on the interior shelves not matter how you rearrange them. Milk has to be stored in the door shelf, which is ok, but I would prefer to actually have the door space for other items.. This is my first bottom freezer on a refrigerator and I really like that option and really like not having to bend down to look in the refrigerator any longer.
We have has service folks out several times and they have not been able to repair it. Every 3 months the freezer develops ice, strains the motor, if fails to cool and I need to spend two days defrosting it.
