Freezer does not maintain freezing temp

Even set to the coldest setting, the freezer struggles to maintain freezing temperature. Ice cream is soupy, frozen items are not frozen through. This is promoted as "garage ready", but out in our 50 deg garage it is now barely able to keep items cold enough. Shoddy product that I do not recommend.

Hi there, and thanks for taking the time to reach out and let us know of your concern. We're glad you like the refrigerator overall, but do regret any trouble you've had with frost building up in the freezer. We know that would be an inconvenience and would like to assist.
If you haven't yet been able to resolve this issue, our service department is available at 1-800-432-2737 and would be glad to diagnose and repair the unit. An appointment can also be scheduled online at https://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/service.htm if you prefer.
An issue with frost may be resolved if you check the gasket to ensure there are no gaps or tears that are preventing the door from sealing. Making sure there is also proper clearance to the air supply and vents in the freezer, to optimize circulation, can help as well. We have an article on how to possibly resolve a frost issue, if that may be useful for you: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=19286 . There is also troubleshooting information on page 20 of your manual.
We hope you are able to get this issue resolved soon, so you can enjoy your new refrigerator without any trouble with frost. If you have any other inquiries or concerns, we're always happy to help. All the best! -Sarah@GEA

Ice makers last less than 10 years!! Water filters for the refrigerators last less than 6 months and are expensive. Don't bother with either, been there done that at least twice! This is a great no bells or whistles refrigerator!! I did settle for a stainless front, wanted black, but I did not want to wait two more weeks!
Got this for our garage - would be a bit noisy for inside the house, but is fine in the garage.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Hello. We appreciate you submitting your feedback, and are glad this garage-ready refrigerator has been a good fit for your space. We do regret that you feel the model would be a bit too noisy inside the house - we know a concern over the noise level can be a real inconvenience.
Newer models can have a higher noise level than older ones, because of newer technology and added features. If you'd like to check that the noises you're hearing are normal, your manual discusses expected sounds from the refrigerator on page 19. We also have an article discussing normal sounds here: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=15901 . Our Refrigerator Design team will be informed of your experience as well, for future review and development; we value your insights.
If you ever have any other questions or concerns, we're always glad to offer assistance. Wishing you all the best! -Sarah@GEA
Bought this fridge to replace an Amana purchased from my employer over 20 years ago. Hope this can match that dependability. Had what features we needed for a garage 'overflow' fridge at a great price point.
