New garage refrigerator

This appliance replaced another from a different manufacturer that failed after only 3 years. The interior and exterior of the refrigerator including the freezer are well designed and provide ample space for our groceries. We finally settled on this refrigerator after spending months researching and reviewing what refrigerators were available that could guarantee function across a wide temperature range. GE was the only manufacturer that we found in the United States that currently offers such a guarantee of 38 to 110 degrees.

Poor refrigeration

The first refrigerator lasted about 15 days. Our dealer replaced it. The new one is n ow 17 days old and with the refrigeration setting set at 5 (the coldest setting) the new thermometer I bought registers at 39.5 degrees. My brand new half gallon of milk is spoiled already because at the #4 setting it was cooling only to 42 degrees.
My last GE refrigerator lasted 26+ years. Since it was leaking we felt the need to replace it. Big mistake! We have had a long history with GE appliances and I am so very disappointed with this one.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
