Nice, but not perfect

Replaced a 12-year old GE Profile side-by-side standard depth refrigerator (which was still working just fine).
Things I like:
- Counter depth makes a huge difference in our kitchen.
- Slate color looks nice, no fingerprints, magnets stick, and it looks smaller than white.
- Alexa integration is nice, and almost necessary for making use of the Keurig module (see don't likes).
- In-door ice maker saves space and the mini-shelves on that side are more useful than I first thought.
- The pull-out tray for the water dispenser is nice - and also necessary (see don't likes).
- Leave the Keurig module empty and you can get just hot water.
Things that could be improved:
- Takes too long to heat water/water isn't kept hot. Waiting 5 minutes to brew a cup of coffee is a big step back from a regular Keurig coffee maker. The app/Alexa intergration helps, but you do have to plan ahead.
- It's obvious in retrospect, but pulling out the deli drawer means opening both doors. A system with two drawers (with nothing dividing them) would be the best of both worlds.
- The lack of height means that even though 3 door shelves have the depth to hold a gallon container, in practice only one shelf can be used for them. The choices for door shelf positions are about 3" inches apart, so not many choices to customize in practice.
- Those deep door shelves also reduce the depth of the inside shelf space, i.e. the inside shelves and the door shelves have to be positioned just right if you want it to hold a pizza box.
- No pizza holder in the freezer like some competitors.
- Unlike our previous GE Profile fridge, the top of the fridge is not flat. It's difficult to clean and less easily used to put stuff on top of.
- The interior is also a major step back compared to our previous GE Profile fridge - lots of nooks, crannies, exposed screw heads, etc. which make it hard to clean.
- Holding a button down for 3 seconds to dispense hot water/coffee doesn't sound bad on paper, but is really tiresome in the real world.
- The Keurig module dispenses forward; you really need to pull the tray out to avoid spraying hot water over your cup.
- Hot water temperature has two settings: Coffee and Cocoa. The app displays an actual temperature, but no way to set it to a specific temp.
- The GE Connect App feature is single user - most households have more than one person.
- The packing tape is difficult to remove as well as the adhesive is leaves behind - how does one safely remove the adhesive without damaging the surface?
- The LED lighting is a harsh bright white - a softer color would be more attractive.

Better than expected!

So we needed a new fridge for our new house; I really could care less about features but for the wife- this one met all of her needs. So I'm thinking, "What the heck! A Kurig thing in the door? When will I ever use this?" The answer: every single day! I bought eco friendly biodegradable coffee things to put in the Kurig thing in the door. There is an app that I set to have the hot water ready when I wake up in the morning. How crazy is that! So it keeps everything cold and frozen and makes ice and has water in the door; but hot coffee? Are you kidding me? We've had the unit for just about eight weeks and I LOVE IT?

Love this Fridge!

We did a complete kitchen remodel, and this fridge is a focal point as it sits at the end of our island. It looks great as the slate color contrasts the lighter colors we chose for cabinets, tile, & countertops. We have small children so it’s also important that fingerprints do not show. As for functionality, I love how bright the fridge lights are. Even though it’s counter depth, it seems very spacious and meets all our storage needs. The only possible negative is I feel that the ice maker disperses ice in a way that you need to position any non-large cups perfectly to avoid cubes from bouncing off your cup and hitting the floor. Overall, we are very happy with this purchase!

Beautiful fridge in many ways. However, the ice maker always jams. And i can never get the wifi setting for the coffee maker to work. Two major features that do not work properly.

Very Spacious Fridge!

I bought this a month ago and Im pretty happy with it so far. Great space, great lighting, great shelving. The Keurig machine is a huge Plus!! The only complaint I have is that the fridge makes a loud humming sound that you can hear when the house is quiet.
