I bought this refrigerator because a counter depth was too small for my needs, so despite the high sticker price it was a need as well as a "want". So far, less than a month's use, it is great. Ice and water dispenser work well, the surface deflects many marks and the capacity is ample.
We have an older home so during the remodel of the kitchen recessing a refrigerator was not possible. I love the look of this refrigerator and the fact that nothing is ever hiding in the back of the shelves- all very accessible. Would have liked to have an option of a tilt up bin in the door for butter access. The ice dispenser and water are a little slow to dispense.
The refrigerator side is unable to achieve a temperature below 40 degrees, and the "turbo" mode does not appear to do anything. The freezer door (stainless) has multiple mars. We have contacted the appliance company that sold the refrigerator, and a tech will come to our house next week to review.
All of the plastic tubes have become brittle and shattered in the past 3 months. Had a service guy come in a replace them - cheaper than buying a new fridge. Today woke up to another puddle of water on the hardwood floor it sits on. This time we don't know where the water is coming from. 10 years for a very expensive refrigerator to become obsolete is ridiculous. Sadly, GE Profile is the only maker of refrigerators that will fit in our space.
The GE Profile has all the space we need for 3 growing teenage boys (and parents). The freezer is late get than our old frig, which is good because I often stock up on favorites or freeze leftovers for our one son who is vegetarian. I’m giving this 3 stars because (1) it is a loud refrigerator and we have to talk louder at our breakfast table, (2) the stainless steel panels are easily smudged by finger prints (and we have lots of fingers) and (3) the ice maker shoots ice cubes if the glass isn’t snuggly in place. We do like the nightlight feature as well as the WiFi feature.
