Expensive Price, very poor quality

Three weeks after purchasing this expensive, built in refrigerator, the ice maker failed. Two months, and two service visits later, problem not resolved. Very poor quality at a premium price. Would not recommend.

Replaced a very bad Samsung with this built in refrigerator. The Sam.. left us with a bit of PTSD in regards to refrigeration in general.... Love the Cafe side by side doors so that we don't have to pile stuff into a freezer drawer. Runs quiet and is great at making ice. Looks like a GE Monogram for a little bit less.

Bought to replace a broken built-in fridge. Would not ever buy a built-in if we had had time to modify cabinets, etc. due to the high cost. I just don’t see the benefit versus a standard fridge other than the appearance. It’s a nice fridge, although the door shelves seem a bit flimsy. I do love the Autofill feature on the water dispenser. I am a huge fan of GE Cafe Appliances. I had them at our prior home and loved the appearance and function. Seems fairly quiet and cools/freezes well.

This new refrigerator was delivered and installed on 7/20/20. The fridge section is only at 50 degrees Farenheit even though it's set at 36. Freezer section is fine and maintaining 0 degrees. The fridge section not maintaining the set temperature started happening about 3 weeks ago. Promptly called GE to schedule a technician and earliest available appointment was a week out. When the tech arrive, he could find nothing wrong with the system. He talked to GE Service Center and wound up ordering a new main board and door switches in the hopes of resolving the issues. Board and switches are scheduled to arrive 11/19. Good thing we have an old Monogram in the garage that keeps plugging along. We're going to end up waiting over 2 months to see if the first fix corrects the problem. Very disappointed in this new Cafe Refrigerator.
