Check the features closely!

Just had ours installed today (GE Cafe 48” side by side refrigerator), replacing the Monogram we previously owned and loved . Very disappointed to see no internal temperature display, thinking I had the wrong fridge, since I had been studying the features extensively. Come to find out that while we were considering the option of ‘no water/ice dispenser’, the pictures of that unit show the refrigerator/freezer temperature panel. In the end we decided to purchase the unit that has the water/ice dispenser. So today as I look at the photos of the two refrigerators to check on the features, I realize there is no temperature panel if you get the water/ice dispenser. I am greatly disappointed to find that I was knowingly paying more for the dispenser, but unknowingly also losing a feature I thought was included. Cheap move. Also, my water dispenser keeps dripping….

We are extremely apologetic about this refrigerator not living up to your expectations due to the temperature display. If you notice that you have water dripping briefly after you use the dispenser, this is normal. This dribble of water (few drops) could occur for a few seconds after you have pulled your glass away from the dispenser. A few drops is normal, but you can also prevent water from missing the glass and dripping down the cradle area by moving glass slower when removing it from the cradle. Water Dispenser and Ice Maker Aren’t Great

Less than 3 weeks after moving into our newly renovated home, the water dispenser went from dispensing water straight down to dispensing it at an angle for no apparent reason, and now it leaks after use. Likewise, when the icemaker fills up and the arm moves in to stop ice-making, the arm “freezes” in place and doesn’t automatically pop out to start making ice again - so we find ourselves with a near-empty ice bin. We’ve put in a service call to our retailer, but this seems odd for a brand new unit. In addition, the whole water dispenser is placed too far back for a typical water glass. If you press your glass or hand against the dispenser arm, you have to position the glass almost tilted outward to make sure the water gets into the glass — and that’s with a tall glass!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very disappointing. I dont recommend this product.

Within less than 1.5 year of use, I had to call service already 3x, once it stops freezing and refrigerating. I lost food, spent time/hassle to remove all food to the 2nd refrige at the garage and time to open ticket for service. They always ask me to turn off for 24hours, wait to defrost all freezer and turn it again. It seems that there is an issue of air condensation inside the unit, producing ice inside the fan, which make it stop working. The first time, it worked. The second time, they put small pieces of isolation foam inside the motor/fan to avoid producing ice inside of it (which didn't make any difference/made it worst) and at the 3rd time, they replaced the gasket (which held the issue for 4 months). This is a USD10k refrigerator with a serious design/manufacture issue.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Poor quality

Love the look and app connectivity. The app is actually how I know when it brakes down! I receive alerts that the temp is above 20 degrees in the freezer or 50 degrees on the fridge side. Currently broken a third time and waiting for repair after only two years of use.

Day 2 after installation and we’ve already had to request service since the motor is making a loud screeching noise. Another minor point, the panels are not well aligned, which just shows this thing was slapped together. I really regret not saving up some more money to just buy a Sub-Zero. Glad we got the extended warranty for this hunk of junk, it will clearly be needed.

Fits where previous unit was installed in 1996

We are pleased that this refrigerator/freezer was able to be installed with no modification. However, there a glaring absence of of at least two (2) features that are found in virtually every other refrigerator on the market today; there is no dedicated butter/margarine compartment or dedicated egg storage. This may sound trivial but we were pretty much locked into this design by both price and availability. For the price we paid I am disappointed that these features were not standard on this upscale appliance!
