Fits where previous unit was installed in 1996

We are pleased that this refrigerator/freezer was able to be installed with no modification. However, there a glaring absence of of at least two (2) features that are found in virtually every other refrigerator on the market today; there is no dedicated butter/margarine compartment or dedicated egg storage. This may sound trivial but we were pretty much locked into this design by both price and availability. For the price we paid I am disappointed that these features were not standard on this upscale appliance!

Paid 6 months ago..No Fridge....and GE wants 1000 to fix ours while they make us wait...unreal..

Avoid the refrigerator!

I loathe this refrigerator for a number of reasons. First, this is a "thin" model, which means you don't have a lot of space for bigger items in either the fridge or freezer. That's on me, since we knew we had to get this size for our remodeled kitchen.
But the icemaker has broken twice since we've had it for 2.5 years. And when the icemaker does work, it's very slow.

So Large!

We are very happy with our GE Cafe refrigerator. We find that our food is staying fresher longer as the extra space allows for more breathing room for our food. We have had one issue with cooling but service tech came out immediately and repaired the issue. He did not work for GE but stated that this refrigerator should last us up to 10 years which is the main reason I wanted to purchase GE products. I will be buying the extended warranty through GE to ensure maximum life expectancy for this refrigerator. It truly is the most important and used appliance in our home.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Ice & Water maker a complete disaster!

We have had multiple problems with the ice and water maker in fact I’ve had this unit replaced twice in the past two years.

Have this refrigerator since 2006...

Looks like the ice maker is still a major issue. Our ice maker is nothing but a pain. Been repaired several times. Dispenser hasn't worked for years. Water dispenser started pouring out water one day (thankfully we were home) it now doesn't work at all. Looking to replace and was going to go the easy route and just replace with the same model thinking improvements have been made on the ice and water issues but from reading the reviews I can see that it hasn't.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
