Good choice if a built-in is only option.

Bought to replace a broken built-in fridge. Would not ever buy a built-in if we had had time to modify cabinets, etc. due to the high cost. I just don’t see the benefit versus a standard fridge other than the appearance. It’s a nice fridge, although the door shelves seem a bit flimsy. I do love the Autofill feature on the water dispenser. I am a huge fan of GE Cafe Appliances. I had them at our prior home and loved the appearance and function. Seems fairly quiet and cools/freezes well.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Disappointed....

This new refrigerator was delivered and installed on 7/20/20. The fridge section is only at 50 degrees Farenheit even though it's set at 36. Freezer section is fine and maintaining 0 degrees. The fridge section not maintaining the set temperature started happening about 3 weeks ago. Promptly called GE to schedule a technician and earliest available appointment was a week out. When the tech arrive, he could find nothing wrong with the system. He talked to GE Service Center and wound up ordering a new main board and door switches in the hopes of resolving the issues. Board and switches are scheduled to arrive 11/19. Good thing we have an old Monogram in the garage that keeps plugging along. We're going to end up waiting over 2 months to see if the first fix corrects the problem. Very disappointed in this new Cafe Refrigerator.

A lot of bang for the buck

I previously owned one of the most top rated and expensive refrigerators out there. When remodeling the kitchen I just could not justify the cost. I did a ton of research when I landed on the Cafe series. I love this fridge. I cook often and I keep a lot of fresh produce and this appliance can handle the load. It keeps produce fresh longer than many refrigerators. It has plenty of room for condiments, containers, juices, wine bottles. It holds it all and it’s very organized. I also love how this appliance looks. It’s professional while beautiful.

Beautiful unit but...

We were so excited to receive our brand new 58” build in refrigerator. As soon as we got it running we noticed a VERY loud noise coming from the freezer side- it was the ice maker which sounded like it was really to explode- rattling shaking and creating noice we could hear at the other end of our home. We call GE repair they quickly responded by sending out a tech right away. We were told it was a manufacturer’s defect and the ice maker was faulty. We are currently waiting for them to return with a new ice maker unit. Anxious to see how the new unit performs- hopefully quietly!! Other than that we love the look of this unit. We purchased the brushed bronze handles and they are beautiful!

ice machine makes a high pitch small engine noise

I purchased this months ago and received it sept 26 due to covid, no fault of anyone it took so long. Ice maker is annoying and loud high pitch humming noice like a small engine changing gears. I can not get through to anyone to help. I thought I could get someone to come out and check the ice maker but they are transferring me around and so far Cafe said someone would call me and that has not happened it has been a week

Big and beautiful

Smart look,Smart appliance. Roomy. I finally can reduce my home to one refrigerator. It’s hard to entertain using food when there is little room to store party trays. Shelves are deep enough and wide enough to hold them. No cramming bottles or jars and not knowing what is in my fridge. We love it.
