Its made of plastic. reminds me of a fancier snoopy snow cone maker. The ice comes out a little on the thick side. But for small children it should be fine. does not feel very sturdy.

So easy to use, so easy to clean, works so well, and is so darn fun!!! I’d say we’ve used it on at least 20 different days, over the last few months or so. Sometimes for just 3 or 4 sno-cones; sometimes for 10 or 20. … This product is exactly what we were hoping it would be! Thank you, Cuisinart!
