Works decent, but the part I don't like is that the tray with it's groove makes it too hard to get all the ice out. Especially with the included scoop. You also can't just tip the tray over to pour the ice because it will just spill all over.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It shreds ice really well but does come out sharper than I was expected. I was expected more snow-like pieces. It’s more like fine crushed ice. Kids don’t mind, so it’s all good. Just not totally what I anticipated.
