Damages Clothes

Arrived defective (new in box) and damaged multiple items of clothing. There are snag points on the interior of the machine, two brackets that I assume hold sensors. Those were not installed properly from the factory and a number items of our clothing and bedding had holes and tears put in them. Poor quality assurance from GE.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It eats all my clothes with strings and buttons!

I’ve never hated a new appliance more! Five stars?! Either that’s a totally manufactured rating or I got lucky with a defective dryer. But this seems an issue in engineering. Not luck. So I’m inclined to believe more are experiencing this. This dryer eats all my buttoned shirts and anything with a string! The problem comes from the lint trap and the placement of the door right over it. As the machine spins, a sweater string or button will become lodged against a small lip in the trap and the door keeps it trapped there. The machine continues to spin and spin, twisting the button or string relentlessly until it breaks off. Literally twists the strings so hard they break off! And I’ve had buttons not just pop off, but break out the internal structure of the button so I can’t even sew it back on. The amount of clothes I’ve lost to this dryer could almost pay for the thing! I try to take clothes out of it now that I know will likely get caught, but sometimes I miss them and EVERY TIME… I’ll lose them. What’s the point of a dryer if half the clothes you have can’t be tumbled in it?! Worst dryer ever! And it’s a shame because it holds a lot, drys efficiently, and is in all other ways, decent.

Great Dryer

Beautiful Well made sturdy dryer. I like the durability, performance and efficiency of GE products. The dryer has great capacity and easily fits a king size comforter. I haven’t tried all the features yet, but I especially like the wrinkle care, dewrinkle and quick dry settings.

When using the timed option, it dries okay. Otherwise, the settings are useless. The sensor functions never get everything completely dry.

For the money, it can't be beat!

My wife and I are really impressed with this GE dryer. Especially with the WiFi connection and the large 7.8 capacity. We love it. It's very quite. It has all of the dryer cycles you could want and is energy star rated.
