I have waited 6+ months to write this review. I really wanted to love this dryer but I can't. My previous GE dryer lasted 15 years and was similar in style. The previous dryer was much better in function. The biggest problem with this dryer is the lint tray. It is absolutely terrible! It is U-shaped and has lots of nooks and crannies in addition to the metal screen. When you snap it open to clean it, lint dust flies everywhere. For some reason the lint "sticks" to the plastic surfaces and the metal screen so you can't completely wipe it clean. I see that other owners have complained about the same thing and saw that someone posted photos of the problem. Also, not all of the lint gets captured by the lint screen. I have to wipe down all the surfaces where the lint screen is housed. Unfortunately, the housing is too small to fit a vacuum hose into so I can't retrieve the globs of lint sitting in the tube beneath the lint tray. This is a terrible design. The design of my previous machines lint screen worked just fine, a flat screen that was easy to clean. No big mess with lint dust flying around. Why did some goofy engineer mess with something that was proven to work. Overall, the dryer is noisier than my 15-year old model. Lastly, the "cycle complete" audible alarm is five times quieter than my previous machine. With the laundry room door closed, you can't hear it. Stop messing with features that work.

Thank you for providing your detailed insight on the design of the lint trap and noise level of your new dryer. Regarding the end-of-cycle signal, it is adjustable and instructions can be found on page 9 of the manual: https://products-salsify.geappliances.com/image/upload/s--YfR8cHKq--/ynktmodsmsbggu2d2dwu.pdf -- If there’s anything else we can assist with please don’t hesitate to reach out.
