For the price, the appliance is lacking in quality. It is extremely loud and makes more noise than the dying 16-year-old unit it replaced. It lacks basic features like a freezer light or crisper humidity control. And, the shelf-height adjustment notches are so limiting that either the bottom or top shelves will be rendered essentially useless. Note to self: never buy a refrigerator online again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

WOW! GE IS TOPS!

I JUST RECEIVED MY NEW FRIDGE TODAY AND I AM TOTALLY DELIGHTED. First of all, the fridge was a perfect fit and it lends a nice clean look to my kitchen. Second, it is spacious- deep and wide crispers, moveable door slots and shelves, and a very large freezer, leaving room to spare. Third, it has an ice cube maker. Fourth, it is quiet as a church mouse Last but not least, the doors are reversible (left to right and vice-versa). Thank you GE for making special things for my home that will last for years to come....

Spacious!

We replaced a side-by-side refrigerator/freezer that was awkward to reach into due to the limited space in both the refrigerator and the freezer, even with the doors wide open. Also, the ice maker pass-through in the freezer door was always dropping ice cubes onto the kitchen floor.
This refrigerator with top freezer is spacious, and we can reach all the food inside without contorting ourselves or moving items around. The ice maker does not have a pass-through, so it's not as convenient but it also doesn't drop ice cubes randomly on the floor.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
