High price for low quality product.

We replaced a similar refrigerator that we had purchased in 2005. This GE model is cheaply built and low on quality. Although the refrigerator is black the exposed hinges are galvanized silver in color. The main shelving unit spacing does not accept upright 2 liter pop bottles. The freezer has no lighting. There was no thought about the actual day to day use fo this product during the design phase. My guess is that production cost was the main factor in the design and production of this inferior product.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We just received this shiny referigerator.So far so good.It seems to work well.It is semi quiet. We hope it is energy effiecient.

We had a GE profile for 25 yrs and loved it. Wanted to get the same one because the 1st one lasted so long. We were limited to the size because of the opening in our kitchen but you no longer make the “profile” in what we were looking for so we settled on this one and we are very disappointed. No light in freezer, which makes no sense. Shelves are very awkward and not very productive. Didn’t even know there was a shelf on door because you can’t see it because of other shelve. Doesn’t sit even, tilts to the right side by at least an 1/2 in. Thermostat wasn’t working properly so they had to put a new in within the first few weeks! I wish we would not have bought this one.

Shelves and lower crispers are nice size. Ability to move the smaller bin and shelves a plus. Temperature control good in the refrigerator. Lower refrigerator door shelf is a little inconvenient, in placement. Plastic bins on freezer door shelves are to wide in width. Food cannot be placed on shelves in freezer compartment. This prevents door from closing.
The freezer needs to have light and separate temperature control. Ice maker is ok. This is a good size refrigerator for a small to medium size kitchen.

Economical!

Overall, the refrigerator keeps the temperature well. I like the storage compartments for a basic refrigerator. I am disappointed that the ice maker is very slow in producing ice. We drink a lot of iced tea in our house!

Design is not good. To easy to bump your head on the freezer door when getting things from the frig part as you have to stoop down low to reach into it. I would not have bought it if I had seen it on display in the store.
