Pros: Style/Design, ease of use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The “door-in-door”, “side-by-side” LG stainless steel 26 cu ft refrigerator / freezer is unique in it’s easy to use configuration. The unit uses R6 isobutane refrigerant and cools very well. So well that when the refrigerator is set at the standard 37 F both fruit and vegetables freeze. After a visit by the LG service man and testing various temperatures it was set at 40 F.

The refrigerator was purchased in April and died in August. I have contacted LG with proof of purchase l, but they have made no effort to assist in any way. Now I have a piece of junk in my kitchen and drinks in a cooler.

It honestly feels like we have more room in this unit than our previous french door unit. Ice was being dropped with in hours (we threw out first full batch of door ice and first 6 craft ice balls)

Handle is the only thing that we're getting use to but is fine. Naturally a tall person wants the top of door to have a handle and a short person just want the handle to be a tad higher than where it is... but it's funny to watch people open it thinks it's a French door fridge.

I had a horrible experience with the other brand and will never buy anything made by that company. LG was well priced with many options that I absolutely love. My wife and I are extremely pleased with the price, features and how well designed this is. I will check out other LG products for my future needs. I appreciate the simplicity of removing the racks and the craft ice is a special treat. It is great having the door in the door and the tap feature to look inside without opening the door. Great product that breaks the mold of old fashioned refrigerators that were poorly designed. We love it!
