Faithful to an icon

The increased width and length on the new Speed Champions certainly makes them stand out from their predecessors. Better proportions, increased detail, and enough room for 2 minifigures. This is my first and only of the 8 stud Speed Champions so far and I must say I'm quite pleased.
The build is, of course, different. It took me nearly 2 hours to open, sort, build, and carefully apply stickers as I went. Speaking of stickers, there doesn't seem to be a significant increase in the number of stickers to apply here, but still plenty to drive your patience.
The completed vehicle is nicely detailed inside and out. The widebody fenders, various vents and intakes, the splitter and spoiler, and the fog light assembly are well done. My only gripes are the 1/2 stud offset of the steering wheel in relation to the driver and the lack of a roll cage, but I don't suppose either of these could easily be fixed. Overall, it's a faithful Lego model the iconic group B rally car that paved the way. I'm hoping to see some Scooby love and it's Mitsubishi rival in the future. That'd be a great 2 pack!

Great set for young and old fans alike

Whether you're getting this for a child or a big-grown-up kid this set is an excellent buy. The proportion improvements, side-by-side seating and level of detail over the previous generation are all welcome changes. Can't wait to see more sets using this design in the future. Decals might be a bit tricky for younger builders.

Great Classic Rally Car

This car really lends itself well to a Lego build. I liked that the headlights and taillights are brick built, and the extra fog lights are great. I only wish the minifigure was female, since Michelle Mouton raced almost this exact car.

I love this set and all the little details it has! Am I the only one who wants an extra set of wheels and tires for this set? Needs a second set of wheels for the gravel tires and the primary set is the tarmac tires. Not able to buy them separately like I want to.
