Do not buy this product

My boyfriend bought me this toaster for a pre-Christmas gift. Doesn't matter what setting it is on, it burns the crust and the rest is white and untrusted. After months of fighting with it I gave up and got my old toast out. Problem solved. Unfortunately my boyfriend dies not have the receipt so I guess this expensive toaster will go to the garbage.
DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!

Started off great but went downhill

Bought this last October. When I started using it, it toasted fairly evenly. Lately, as I read below, it toasts one side like a bagel and also unevenly. Very disappointed. Hoping the one year warranty can be used? It doesn't matter whether the bagel button is pushed, either.

Very disappointed

I brought this toaster home only to realize the latch wouldn’t click and stay down so I returned it and got another one. This time the handle stays down but it toasts so unevenly I wish I wouldn’t have thrown out my old toaster that this one was replacing because even though it was old and on its way out it still worked better than this new one. One side will be nice and toasted and the other side is literally still just bread.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Replacement Toaster no Better

Oster replaced this toaster and this one is the same - VERY uneven toasting. First and last OSTER product for us! You will notice that the good reviews are from 8 years ago. Do you think the latest batch made are all defective and maybe made somewhere else than 8 years ago?

One side toasting

Like everyone else I bought one, returned it because it only toasted on one side. Bought another, same thing. Bagels toasted on both sides. I think they are incorrectly wired. I now have bred toasted on both sides if I put it on bagel setting and bagels on one side if I don't use the bagel setting.

There may be a few that have true bagel settings, but they would be older obsolete models. All current Oster® models do not have what we call a “true bagel” setting – i.e. toasting on one side. All other units in the market will only use a timed setting, meaning that when the Bagel button is engaged, there is extra time added to the toasting cycle with all heaters on.
