Disappointing

We love the look and shape of this toaster but performance is disappointing. We bought this toaster and after several attempts and settings could not get both sides evenly toasted. Thought maybe it was defective. Returned it and bought another one. Same issue. One side really dark other side was barely warm. (Like it was on bagel setting but it wasn’t). User brochure says the elements will glow at different levels and that is normal but it toasts unevenly? We returned second one and went with a different brand. Unfortunately

If toaster is not toasting evenly, these are the possible causes:
The crumb tray may not be in place. This will affect toasting performance.
You have to make sure crumb tray is clean.
You have to make sure when toasting two slices at a time, the slices should be of equal size and freshness to ensure even toasting.

Poor Quality = Poor Results

We got this toaster two months ago, and immediately something seemed off. The bagel mode button didn't light up reliably, and it doesn't seem to change anything whether it's off or on, lit up or not. It never toasted evenly, always doing the lower side much darker than the higher side. A month after having it, the settings now seem to have no bearing on how toasted the result is, I've had it burn a slice while set to 2 as often as leaving a slice at 4 barely touched, even with the same kind of bread! We have to watch our toast cook to prevent setting off the smoke alarm or re-push it down multiple times.
Don't buy this toaster.

Uneven Toasting

I got this as a Christmas gift. It looks great and I like the long slots for artisanal bread I bake. Unfortunately, the sides of the piece of toast do not toast evenly and the edges burn all the time.

Awful Product

I bought this toaster about 4 months ago and I have to say it was the Worst purchase I have ever made, especially for the amount I paid for it. It burns the edges of the toast no matter what setting it is on or where you place the bread inside of it. It only toast one side at a time then you have to flip your bread. I would no recommend this to anyone to buy. I have been told by so many to get an Oster toaster, wrong decision. It absolutely sucks. I gave it a 1 star only because there were no - stars to give. I actually rate this toaster a minus 10. I have reached out to Oster about this product, I guess we will see if the respond to me.

If only one side is toasting, make sure the bagel setting has not been selected. If it has been selected, then only the inner elements will heat up.

Good toaster but has cheap components

Toaster worked great for the last year however the main push down handle to activate the toaster does not stay down any longer. Can't make toast unless you keep the handle pressed down for the entire time to reach your desired shade. Very disappointing!

Do I have to give a star?

We have been living with this for a while. Horrible toaster. Cheaply made. Little metal thing that holds the toast bottom does NOT stay in the guide slot on one side- forever having to get it back in the slot. Recently not even starting due to this issue. When it does start it is inconsistent at best. Uneven. Requires multiple toasts. Untoasted. Burnt. Very uneven toasting. All of these issues. Daily it seems I say- can it REALLY be THIS hard to toast toast? Considering using oven instead. NS. Really. We thought we needed a new toaster when we ditched our second cuisinart. Not quite sure how much money we need to spend to get a QUALITY toaster these days. Just a sign of everything that is wrong in the world. And yes it is just a toaster.
