All the features you'll want in a bread maker!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've gone through several bread makers in the last past. I make bread at least once a week and, I can tell you, this model has everything you need to consistently bake an artisan-quality loaf.
Most importantly, it performs well baking 1, 1.5, or 2-pound loaves. I baked all sizes, and they each rose perfectly, browned evenly, and had a nice crumb.
Second, this machine has a window so that you can watch the baking progress. Many machines don't give you that option; this is a pretty important feature so you can watch during the mixing cycle and adjust flour or liquid as needed (which leads us to key feature three).
When you lift the lid during the mixing cycle, the paddle does not stop spinning, as it does with some other machines. This is a really big deal; adding additional flour or liquid while the paddle is spinning mixes in the new ingredients more evenly.
Finally, the automatic dispenser (which, again, is not available in many other bread makers) releases fruit, seeds, or nuts at just the right moment to ensure they are well dispersed throughout the loaf.
If you've not used a bread maker before or you've not had great success in the past using a bread maker, I have a big tip for you - Measure, Measure, Measure! Carefully measure all ingredients (or use an electronic scale) to get the exact amount called for in the recipe. If you add the precise amount called for in the included manual's recipes*, you'll wind up with a great loaf of bread!

What a joy to use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had both shoulders replaced so the thought of kneading dough for bread, pizza, and cinnamon rolls was not one I wanted to do anymore. Using the Hamilton Beach Bread Maker has been a joy to use.I have been baking for over 55 years. I enjoy knowing what is in the food that I give my family and friends to eat. The machine is very easy to use and easy to clean. My husband especially likes the raisin bread.

Great Counter-Top Worthy Bread Maker

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We decided it was time for a new bread maker and came across this one. We liked that it had the drop in feature for nuts and dried fruits, so we went ahead and made the purchase. We've had it for about a month now and we really love it. We've had a few hiccups along the way, one loaf of bread decided to overflow the pan, but we caught it before it cooked. There is a pause button so it was easy to pause the cycle, get things cleaned up and pop it right back in. Everything appears to be nonstick, so the clean up is super easy. There is a jam feature. We tried to make orange marmalade in it. We found that it doesn't quite heat up enough but it did take off a good half hour of babysitting the jam, so it was well worth setting up the cycle. We have continued to use the feature for other jams and jellies knowing we may have to do a bit more cooking on the stove but not the usual amount so still worth the time in the bread machine. Also the slide for the nuts and berries doesn't always let everything slide down but if you head over after the final rise of the bread and give it a quick tap, the remainder ends up on the top of the bread when it bakes and gives the bread a pretty finish. The controls take a second to get used to but if you follow the directions under the recipes a few times, after 2-3 loaves, you will be an absolute pro at it.

Wonderful way to have fresh bread without the time involved in making it by hand. 3 different loaf sizes makes it easy to make the size you need. The fruit and nut dispenser makes life that much easier to make a wonderful sweet yeast loaf.

But I was nervous about investing in one and then it not being all that I wanted it to be... well, this machine is all that I wanted it to be. To tell the truth, I am mad at myself for taking so long to get a bread machine because this machine is SOOOO easy to use! Instead of making everything by hand, this machine does it for me. I just have to add in the ingredients, press a few buttons and this machine will bake the bread! The bread comes out very soft and delicious! It is a HUGE hit at our home!

So easy to use

Was so easy, just added ingredients and pushed a couple buttons. Was very satisfied in the quality of the loaf.
