This time Turbo Tax was awful!!!

I bought Turbo Tax Basic edition and loaded it on to an Apple Mac Mini computer. At the end of the process, after I was charged for my State download and a fee to e-file. The program quit functioning and it will not restart on the Apple computer. I've NEVER had Turbo tax fail on me before. I won't ever use it again.

I STILL LIKE TURBOTAX

I HAVE USED TURBOTAX FOR MORE THAN 20 YEARS. THIS YEAR WAS DIFFERENT. MY WIFE HAD PASSED AWAY AND WE SOLD OUR HOME. iI COULD NOT FIND HOW TO REPORT INCOME THAT THE BUYER PAID TO GAIN ACCESS TO THE PROPERTY WHILE CLOSING WAS DELAYED. I COULD NOT FIND HOW TO CHECK PERSONAL PREFERENCE BOXES FOR PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION CAMPAIGNS AND FOR NOT FORWARDING 1099R INFORMATION TO NEXT YEAR ON AN ACCOUNT CLOSED IN 20I9. FOR THE FIRST TIME I CAN RECALL, I CONTACT THE HELP DESK THREE TIMES AND THEY WERE ABLE TO RESOLVE EACH ISSUE. (THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION QUESTION HAD A CLEAR QUESTION FOR SELECTION IN THE PAST.) THE LAST ISSUE I WILL NOT SEE AGAIN. THE E-FILE WAS REJECTED FOR LACK OF SPOUSE'S SIGNATURE PIN EVEN THOUGH THE SIGNATURE BLOCK ON THE 1040-SR CLEARLY SAYS "FILING AS SURVIVING SPOUSE." ALTHOUGH i HAVE THE PIN, IT IS PROBABLY INAPPROPRIATE TO USE IT FOR A DECEASED PERSON. THEREFORE I HAD TO ABANDON E-FILING AND MAIL A PAPER RETURN. YOU MAY NOT BE ABLE TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE OTHER THAN ADVISING TO FILE BY MAIL AND NOT E-FILE IN THIS SITUATION.

Not as good as in previous years

Several times I was unable to enter numbers into the step by step mode. Medical and car mileage. In error check it asked for a description of a line, but I had no idea what it was referring to. Schedule A.

Federal is very convenient, state slightly less

The process was mostly smooth and easy. My only complaint is that while there was a lot of helpful information for how to fill out the federal return, there wasn't as much help for the state return. Not much explanation on who has to pay estimated state tax payments, and some of the part-year resident sections were a little confusing.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved
