Beast Way to File Income Taxes

TurboTax is straight forwarded and very easy to use. It seems impossible to make a mistake.

Not that great

So my husband was unemployed all of last year, but didn't qualify for benefits.
TT kept asking me to "fix" his W2 which I couldn't do as he didn't have a W2!!!

They took me by the hand and led me through the process. I needed to file two state returns, and intuit wants too much money to file state returns.

Could have been worse

The whole process took a couple hours after waiting for all the forms in the mail. I had to ask for a Turbo tax / Intuit code more than once, don't know why, I input the correct code but it did not work. The third time the code worked and went through.

Easy to use and e-file, but too expensive. Basic is thirty dollars. I would use the premier if it was reasonable.

Easy, Straight-Forward, Consistent

Have used TurboTax for years, and years, and years. The ability to decide whether to just fill in forms, for do the Easy Step process for any area I'm unfamiliar with helps to make this process go smoothly. Most years it is just fill in the forms, since at our age nothing much changes, but this years, I had several extra 1099Rs as part of my inheritance from my mother. Being able to have the walk through made it so much easier. And, as always, the "What-If Worksheet" helps me to set up various scenarios for the coming year so that we can adjust our quarterly withholding as needed and plan ahead.
