I've been using Turbo Tax to file my taxes every year since 2000 and have never had any issues with their software. In fact, their software has improved dramatically since then because it has become much more user friendly and easier to use. Turbo Tax guarantees that their software will produce accurate tax returns, and I can personally say that they have successfully fulfilled this guarantee with me for the last 20 years.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Fast and Simple

Our tax return in retirement as simplified to a point at which we probably don't even need a software program to prepare it; however, TurboTax offers the security of knowing that no arithmetic errors are in the return plus it automates the electronic filing process. Another real benefit is the transfer of prior year information. Just the savings in avoiding unnecessary clerical work and mailing the return makes the thirty bucks for the basic version a great bargain.

Turbo Tax is great to quickly calculate our taxes and file them. I made an error this year and an employee from Turbo Tax helped me fix it. They are patient and great to work with.

Turbo Tax is right for me

I've been a Turbo Tax user for years, but I have never been successfully able to e-file my California State tax return. When I try to submit, I keep getting stuck in an error loop about information needed to file my state tax, and out of frustration I elect to send my forms in.
