It addresses all your needs if it is a simple return. Had problem with trying to reset a password. Kind of expensive. Had problems with getting charged twice.
What's great about it: comprehensive
What's not so great: expensive and software has bugs

I have used TURBOTAX for at least 20 years and would never go back to the old way of paying someone to do it for me.
What's great about it: Less trouble and more acuate then paying someone to do it for you.
What's not so great: I don't have any cons.

Issues with 1099-Misc
on April 4, 2019
Posted by: AnneOnnimice
-Good interface -Good explanations -I had 1099-Misc forms for the AmeriCorps education award and for a teacher institute, but the program tried to force me to file them as if they were for a small business. -I felt tricked by the advertising. After downloading Basic for $50 or whatever, I thought I was set, but then I needed to pay another $50 to do my state taxes.
What's great about it: Intuitive and user-friendly
What's not so great: Couldn't handle my 1099-Misc

Good job as usual

After using it for my last 15 returns, this year it can't find last years returns on the same PC I have been using for more than 5 years. It also doesn't seem to remember that I paid my house off and have used the standard deduction for several years now. When I say I haven't changed anything, it should know what to ask and what not to.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Can't remember past experiences

sometimes confusing
on April 5, 2019

I am retired with several incomes, including part time 1099-misc work. The program assumed (i guess) that I was in business. While it was trying to get me more money back, I was just getting confused. It was asking me about a schedule C and I did not have one to look at. Trying to back out was not possible, or at least not to me.
What's great about it: It made sure I covered all the bases
What's not so great: It sort of led me down a blind alley asking me questions about a form that I did not have in front of me.

Worked Well
on April 6, 2019

Worked well overall. Printed my forms before e-filing. Glad I did because I discovered in Schedule B, item 7a, the form checked yes that I have a foreign bank account. I do not have a foreign bank account and never answered yes. Could not find the section where this was addressed. Fortunately, I clicked the forms button and fixed the answer manually. I recommend everyone check this form as TurboTax did not fill out this question accurately.
What's great about it: Easy to navigate with Guide Me
What's not so great: Provided a wrong answer on Schedue B
