Trouble This Year

Was unable to download Turbotax this year. It took several calls to you to get it to down-load. Unable to transfer data from last years file to this year. Had to enter all data by hand which made it difficult to compare to last years data. I've use Turbotax for 15-20 years and this is first time I've had trouble. Maybe I'm getting old.
What's great about it: Does calculations for me.
What's not so great: Trouble from the start.

So Simple to Use

We have been using TurboTax for almost 20 years and it has been a lifesaver. This year with the changes from the recent tax law, it was very helpful to see the past history form and understand what changed that affected our amount due.

Minor complications

There was a glitch in the Turbotax Illinois State Taxes. Finding the resolution for the glitch (which was recognized by TurboTax as their problem) was not as easy as it could/should have been; it seems as if it could have been included in the updates, rather than requiring the user to search through the help community to locate the patch. Less experienced users would never find the patch.
What's great about it: Efficient, easy, usually reliable

Never Ever Go Away!

I've been a loyal TT subscriber for over 10 years and it only gets better and better. As my career aspirations and income increased over the years, so did potential tax complications. I briefly considered using a CPA but lo! Turbo Tax has kept up with me each year and each step of the way. I'm so grateful for the easy hand holding approach and actually look forward to doing my taxes every year! How many people can say THAT?!?
What's great about it: Best Hand Holder
What's not so great: Can't Transmit Certain Brokerage Info
Pros: I bought or sold investments, My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

This was my first time filing my own taxes and using turbo tax. It was much easier than I expected and much faster. It's really a great set up. I was bothered by a few things. 1. Users need to know at the start that AGI info for the prior year is needed for efiling. I was not aware of this and caused a bit of a scramble. 2. I had 3 employers in 2018 but was only able to import 1 W-2. You should be able to import all, it is very hard (on the eyes) to read W-2s and 1099s. 3. I was really upset to see an additional cost of $44.95 to be able to file my state returns. I don't have this right now, therefore I am left with the inability to file my state taxes and will have to buy additional software. It should clearly state on the box that this not included, and there is an additional cost. The cost for state taxes is significantly higher than the software iI just bought. I was satisfied with the user friendliness of the product, but doing my taxes for the year is not done and that is very frustrating.
What's great about it: Super easy and very fast, I was shocked at how simple it was. Turbo tax really makes it easy
What's not so great: Can only import 1 W-2, additonal cost for state, AGI for 2017 needed

Worst experience I've ever had. Website failures, download failures, typical runaround acquiring last years AGI.
Never will use TurboTax again.
