I love TurboTax but...

Great program. Have used it for years without a problem. BUT please - why do they make me answer the same questions every time I make a slight change to an item? For example - IRA distribution: Was IRA inherited? Did you get your whole RMD? Did anything go to charity? To an HSA? Qualified Disaster Distribution?
If I answered those questions ONCE why do I have to answer them again instead of just a summary of my answers and Do you wish to change anything here?

Quick & Easy to Follow!

Although I have to pay a lot of taxes, TurboTax was efficient as it asked me several questions to find other deductions that may have applied to my tax preparation. Unfortunately, they didn't.

Turbo Tax 2019 filing

Have used Turbo Tax many years and found it fairly easy to complete and e-file. This year, e-file would not go through, even though I corrected "error" (which was not an error) 3 times. Reverted to mailing the return. With all the COVID-19 ordeal happening, I decided this was simplest way to just get it done.

Happy Not Happy

I've been using Turbo Tax for approximately 20 years and always have been happy with how fast and easy it has been tot file. This year my taxes were not as entailed as previous years so I used Turbo Tax Basic to save me some money. I didn't realize it did not include the state so no savings there. The state cost me $49 extra to down load and then an additional $24.00 to e-file. Not happy

Overall quite good but with one criticism

TurboTax seemed quite well organized, thorough, and easy to use. One concern I had was when I was entering the data for my several 1099-R forms. These included both pension and required minimum distribution. The wording in the TurboTax program suggested that having a 1099-R that was NOT a required minimum distribution (RMD) was rare. That is not true. Defined benefit pensions are fairly common, and those do not fall into the RMD category.

Turbo Tax was easy and fast to use and learn as you go!
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
