Started out great but now they're unusable

This was a gift from my brother who lives in the States. The whole point of getting these was so i can run and not worry about sweat damaging them. I had 2 normal ones (not JBL) that did not last, but they were not engineered for sports so i understand.
So you can imagine my insistence on getting this particular type. My brother purchased them in the States and sent them down to me in Ghana in August 2019. They worked perfectly, i'm not some sound aficionado so i won't talk about sound quality and what nots.
Sometime in December, i was halfway through my morning run and the sound cut out. I had charged them the previous night so i was wondering what could be the problem. Whenever i tried them on, a purple-ish colored light (only blue and red lights flash on this unit) would flash and nothing more happens. I got home and tried charging them and still no luck. Kept fidgeting with them all day until by some miracle they started working again.
Today, same problem occurred again. No amount of fidgeting gets it to work unfortunately.
Now it even takes forever for the right earpiece to begin charging. Sometimes the red light keeps blinking intermittently for minutes and simply goes off. There's no blockage at the contact and none of them is broken, and i even tried charging from a power source, same results. You should see this unit, i could tell you it was new and you'd believe it, really kept them well.
The left one charges fine but unfortunately, the right piece is what drives the unit so you can imagine what happens when that one goes haywire. To say i'm super disappointed is an understatement. Before i just throw them away and stay away from JBL entirely, guys, what is the way forward?

Not at all worth the frustration

I'm now on my second set of these. The first set the left just stopped charging or working for no reason. They were only used maybe 5-10 times. I love the idea of these, and that they're water resistant, and the fit/how securely they stay in your ear.
Now, in my second pair of these they will pair with only one thing at a time. Meaning that if they are paired with your phone you have to redo the whole process to use them on your computer, and then start like new on your phone, and so forth. They aren't remembered like the AirPods are. Also, they choose when they'll work and play audio and when they won't. They are paired to my computer right now and all of the settings are to play from the in-ears. But, silence... nothing... They are NOT DEPENDABLE when it all comes down to it. Get something else. I regret spending money on these. While I typically love JBL, and they definitely make some amazing products, they missed the bill here.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Well built and great fit

Only flaw is that if you want to run a single earbud you must use the right side — the right side establishes the Bluetooth connection. Otherwise, these earbuds have been fantastic for using around the house (chores) and for running. I usually only run a single earbud unless I need to also use them as ear plugs. Good bass and sound isolation once you find which size of inserts and wings work for you. Works well with my Apple Watch, iPhone, and Mac mini. I had to turn Bluetooth off of previously connected devices to get a new device to discover them, but after the first time I only need to disconnect them to change devices. Comfort is ok, I suspect they will be a little less comfortable after more than a couple of hours.

Quality sound

I've had beats and other quality headphones in the past, but these make the others feel cheap. Fit and comfort are top notch, and stay in even with rigorous activity. One issue I have is every now and then bluetooth connection seems to be lacking but overall great ear buds.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Will Not Work With FITBIT IONIC - Outdated Tech

I opened the box today. I fully charged them. I went out to test them on a run. Simply put, the Bluetooth technology in these is outdated and cannot compete with BLE(Bluetooth Low Energy) items. Also, many BLE headsets are available at one third of the price of these. Do not waste your time buying these as there are many better options for cheaper. I repeat, these nor any Bluetooth headphones will work with FITBIT that are not Bluetooth 4.1 or later. 5.0 has been available since 2016-17.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not loud enough

I love the jbl brand and speaker wise will continue to buy but this is the only earphone I've bought and it will be my last. They sound great but no matter what size ear pieces I still hear way too much noise around me. And yes it is on the right setting from the left ear piece
