Purchased 9/23/20 United Stated in the middle of Covid-19. I was looking for something in white just a little larger than the 17 cubic feet I was replacing. There is a shortage on everything in the US.No white top freezer units are available However, the sales rep directed me toward what he called green. The color is actually Slate. It's attractive, has very similar features as my current model and within my price range.. I looked and measured for a short time and decided to purchase. Being a new unit it makes different sounds than the old unit when it was running properly. I read the owner's and discovered these are all normal sounds. Just will take time adjusting to the new color and the new sounds. Overall happy with the unit
I would recommend this to a friend!

We replaced this model with the GE garage ready. The Garage ready was running all the time. This is quiet and has wonderful storage space for our family of 6. I would recommend this product! Highly satisfied! American Made!

Freezer won't freeze anything. Turned up dial from normal setting and still won't get to zero degrees. Had to throw out a full freezer of food two days after purchasing.

Issues with the freezer not working!
on November 10, 2020
Posted by: Disappointed_in_GE
I had to return my first unit as the freezer would randomly start rising in temperature. Now the replacement unit is doing the same thing! There seems to be a correlation between opening/closing the fridge door and the freezer temperature rising above save temperatures (41 degrees!). I've even tried pushing on the freezer door each time I close the fridge door, just to ensure there is a nice seal. It still happens. Not always, but every couple of days the freezer starts racing in temperature. The problem (if the above ins't enough) is that the unit won't start cooling itself until the fridge portion reaches a certain temperature. So the freezer will just keep going up and up until the fridge is warm enough to kick in the cooling. This is incredibly frustrating for a 2 week old brand new appliance, which is already a replacement of an equally defective unit.
