Doors started to rust within months

Stainless finish started to rust 2-3 months after purchase and now, after a little over 2 years, has spread ALL over. Looks terrible. Can’t believe I paid this much for a piece of junk. Thought by buying GE I was getting a quality product. Guess not. I have other brand stainless appliances that are MUCH older and they still look new. How can GE in good conscience market something this defective? Never again.

Turns off on a regular basis

I’ve had this hunk of junk in my home for 5 years. It turns itself off on a regular basis and no matter what I had replaced in it ( total rebuilt of the inside controls and freezer fan). It still turns itself off after a few hours of me taking every out of the freezer and letting it defrost. It starts to work again. It also drips water into the refrigerator on a regular basis. I would love to get rid of it but I have limited space so I’m stuck with this hunk of junk.

Plastic Excess Stuck All Over+ B/n Stripping +Unit

I'm typically a thankful and grateful human, striving to make anyone feel better after we part ways than before we met. But this is my true story (2+ hours later typing, saving and downloading) on behalf of my almost 89-year-old-mother, who wanted to purchase this fridge with her limited monthly earnings, even though my fridge and freezer have plenty of space. We liked: the installation guys, the savings compared to other refrigerator-freezers, the clean look, the functionality of three draws and outside handle (to put cloths through!), and the size of this fridge; however, there is so much residual plastic material in several places-all over the unit-and in between the stripping and the fridge!! When I try to tear it out, the stripping pulls away from the fridge, enough for me to see and enough for me to not tear anymore unless it somehow rips the seal of the stripping. Although I had to search to find the cause of sound made, plastic excess is even located towards the units bottom corner, making a noise when opening and closing the door. My Grandfather worked at GE in Lynn, MA all his life, while also working outside of work on chimneys. If he was alive today, I'm sure he'd agree that the quality of products and workmanship has all but gone down the tubes. I am disappointed to say the least. And my mother spent 1/2 of what was in her account and didn't purchase an additional warranty. Arghh. Buyer beware always.
P.S. Probably because of all the plastic excess, it made me hypervigilant about the rest of the unit. Inside the fridge I observed three areas, two under the butter storage container that had two hardened spots, like dried food residue. There were also two greasy looking smear lines under the crisper draw. Needless to say, I washed and sterilized the fridge, but I couldn't help wondering if somehow, we had a used refrigerator.
