Plastic Wrap

The refrige is nice looking and I like the bright led interior light. Our choice in the appliance was limited due to space concerns. It was delivered and set up by the retailer. They did not remove the protective plastic wrap from the product. It was a cold day and we were told they could not remove the wrap as it would just tear due to being cold. We were told it would come off easily after it warmed up. It didn't! It appears GE puts the wrap on the stainless steel parts before assembling the product. This causes it to tear off unevenly and leave raggedy pieces of it up and down the edges of the doors and around the handles. This caused my wife and I, who are elderly, to spend hours crawling around on the floor, picking the torn plastic wrap pieces off the new product that we paid a lot of money for. I am not pleased. It would seem to me that a giant company like GE could find a better way to protect the stainless parts or at least don't install the wrap before assembly.

Great refrigerator. No problems at all . It’s been a year or more with this appliance and it freezes very good.

Can be too noisy

If you don't mind the fan noise and the sub bass hum, it works fine for the price. Definitely not recommended if your space is not isolated enough from the kitchen area. The low growl is like a bass drum beat from an over-pumped car stereo or stadium concert afar. It can be heard from rooms away.

Hi there- We apologize that this refrigerator is louder than you expected. Modern refrigerators have new features and are more energy efficient than older ones. The foam insulation used in new models has excellent insulating capabilities and is very energy efficient, however it is not as sound absorbent as previously used fiberglass insulation. Hard surfaces such as ceramic tile, vinyl or hard wood floors, walls and kitchen cabinets may make these operating sounds more noticeable. We appreciate your feedback and will share your review with our design teams. Without reviews like this we are not able to get better and make a better product.
