Bought this in an emergency when previous GE died after more than 20 years of good service. This one is doubtful, Temperature regulation is poor in both freezer and refrig. Shelves are tricky to change. No owners manual, only a quick use brief paper.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

bough yesterday ran 14 hrs. Sill not working or keeping items frozen or cold! Major problem when brand new appliance doesn't work correctly Set up should have people stay and make sure all working, before they leave Now have to make service calls to get service rep, and frozen items may have to be discarded. N HAPY

This was a "must buy." If this one lasts 41 years as did the old harvest gold ugly Hotpoint did, I will be happy. Wanted another box that gets cold, and doesn't bake cakes, mix batter or take pictures! Just a good plain refrigerator, without frills, even without icemaker!
I love the gallon jug door storage, but miss the egg trays in the door.

I've never written a review before, but wow, what a dud! The fridge came with a factory defect that resulted in an overflow of water constantly pooling under the fruit and vegetable bins. The repair company deemed it irreparable and stated that the defrost unit had been permanently sealed shut and was inaccessible. Fridge was also incredibly noisy. Plastic components very cheap and not made to hold up long. Buyer beware!
