I live in a small apt that had a 25+ year old fridge. This has plenty of room and doesn't project out too far from the counter. The reason I have it a 4 is there is a strong plastic odor. Hoping it goes away soon!
This GE refrigerator replaces a refrigerator in our garage which was not a GE, and which did not function well at all. Our new GE refrigerator is wonderful and fits one fits gallon containers on the inside door and has adjustable refrigeration for the vegetable drawer, and more. The freezer is just the right size for extra food that won't fit in our side-by-side refrigerator in our kitchen. A long scratch was discovered on the lower left side of the appliance. A call was made about the outside defect and $100 was taken off the appliance cost which will be sent by check.
It fits perfectly in the allocated space. Not as wide and bulky as the older models. plenty of freezer space and I like the height of the door shelves. Also like the controls on the vegetable/fruit draws. It runs quietly.
We are happy with the size of the fridge, but feel the shelving in the fridge and freezer doors take up a lot of the usable space in the fridge as a whole. We have found that we need to be careful about how close items are to the doors, so that they close securely. It is a bit louder than I would expect for a newer fridge, but other than that it runs well. We are excited to start seeing a cost savings on our energy bill!
Seal around freezer compartment is not tight. Frost forms around door and on frozen food. A light in freezer box would be helpful. Bought this for a seasonal cabin. Refrigerator compartment is satisfactory and has generous storage in the door.
