So far so good,a lot better than the other I had. I bought it in 1995,so I got 21yrs from it and I hope this unit will stand up to the GE standard.

A refrigerator failure

I purchased this refrigerator in September 2015. After 4 months I got tired of soft ice cream and questionable temperature stability. I put a thermometer in the freezer and found it was ranging between 10 and 15 deg. I kept turning the thermostat knob toward coldest without effect. I requested a service call and the repair person installed a new thermostat without effect. A second call resulted in the serviceman stating it probably needs a compressor and he doesn't have a license to work on compressors. Another serviceman came out and installed a fan and re-visited and installed a new air tunnel in the back of the freezer. There was a difference but the freezer now ranges between 2 deg (good) and 10 deg (not good). The new serviceman has suggested putting in another thermostat because the first one might be bad. I don't know how much longer this will go on before we all give up.
I bought this based on past experience. All the kitchen appliances are GE and they replaced GE's. Not sure in this day and age that loyalty means anything.

Delivered yesterday and it got up to temperature fairly quickly. Nice and quiet operation so far. Will have to wait and see on the reliability of the unit.

...on a 1-10 scale! Perfect size for our 2nd refrigerator in basement! Lots of door shelf space for tall bottles, gallon-size milk, and beverage cans. Once cooled after install, rarely hear it running...very efficient!
