Dreadful design for Installation

I have 2 of these cameras and waited about a year before installing the second camera because the first put me off bothering. Whoever designed this camera should hang their head in shame. 1. To start you have to drill a 20 to 25mm hole to pass the Lan connector through a wall. 2. The cable from the camera is so short that anything thicker than a single skin wall is impossible to cross. My advice is don't buy this camera unless you are prepared to get stressed and frustrated by this dreadful design.

I brought this over 12 mths ago & have had to reboot, factory reset, delete & restall the camera & app, today I received a notification that the sd card has been removed but there's nothing in anything I've looked at that, that says there is an sd in the camera

Doesn't work!

I installed the camera 3 weeks ago and without warning it stopped working! Been trying to put pairing mode and it simply won't work! Do not buy! Waste of money!

A bit hit and miss.

I've bought one of these plus a Reolink Lumus to cover the driveway and entry respectively. The Lumus was easier to install as it had 2 metres of cable from the camera to the power jack connector. The Swann has a big lump of cables starting 30cm from the camera which makes placement really difficult for me. The Swann app needs restarting a bit on my phone so the live feed actually loads. Person detection is mostly a miss for me unfortunately and trying to get the sensitivity dialed in to a sweet spot hasn't happened so far. I had my car broken into last week and the Swann caught them getting into my car then cutting out. I have no idea how long they were in there for, 1 min or 2 hours? The recording was somewhat usable as it showed the colour of his clothes when the spotlight came on and the image wasn't too bad considering it was night time. It should have recorded the entire event though. I've just installed a Reolink 4K with NVR to cover the driveway and the Swann is relegated to sensor light duty which it may or may not do well at.

Some issues with reliability, but Swann support has been good

I bought the twin pack and later an additional camera. With the initial setup I needed Swann support to force through a firmware upgrade and that fixed the connection reliability issues. Same again. When I added the third camera. The Swann online support has actually been very good (suggest using the live chat function); persisting through several checks until the issue was identified and resolved.
It 6 months later and I have had an issue with one camera needing to be power cycled regularly (once a month); which is a pain because the get the power connection requires unscrewing it from the eaves. I have emailed Swann and hope the good customer service continues - we will see.
Volume on voice connection and siren is low as others have noted, but this isn’t an issue for me and is s til, effective for my townhouse setup. There does seem to be reliability issues, but the support has been good and the app (including new upgrades) is nice, easy to navigate and well featured.
All cameras are mains powered but only wifi connected - not using the Ethernet cables. The cabling is one pa mage for power and Ethernet and is either short or very long; shame you can’t adjust so in one setup where the camera is too far away for the short connection I do have A LOT of left over cabling to loom and tie up.
Overall I would still recommend, especially on price and value for money. Maybe the connection issues have been improved with the new Extreme wireless models; so maybe wait for more reviews and see.

The chord is a plus

Absolutely love this camera. Super easy to install, night vision is awesome. Cloud works great. IMO that long chord is a huge plus! It gives you the ability to hard wire into the modem and connect right next to the power outlet. Haven't had any issues. Definitely gonna get one more like this!

Great Camera for the price!

I've had this camera for a few months now and it is awesome! Super very long chord which was is nice! No NVR needed which is huge for me. I am hoping there are swivel cameras with a similar set up (no NVR needed and long chord). Night vision works great, audio is great. What more can you ask for?
